On the western side of San Francisco, you will find Ocean Beach – a long, gorgeous beach that offers endless beautiful scenery. And if you do visit this beach in the evening, bring everything you will need for a bonfire; each night, the fire pits along this beach are alive with light and life.

If you are looking for some great sun and surf near San Francisco, head just a little ways south of the city. Although the beaches of Southern California are warmer and more touristy than the beaches to the north, they can also be louder and much more crowded. The beaches near the Bay Area are the perfect escape for someone looking for something different, and they are the perfect experience for someone wanting something different from the city.
